Pellegrino Services was founded in 2015 in Adelaide, SA. With a relentless commitment to quality, communication and exceptional service, Pellegrino Services has steadily grown into one of South Australia’s largest and most successful international family-operated construction businesses.

History

Pellegrino Services started in residential construction and property investments. From humble beginnings, we quickly grew alongside our clients and soon found ourselves building and developing sites with up to 50 dwellings. As our portfolio developed, so did our client base, leading us into commercial construction and refurbishment projects across a range of market sectors.

Fast forward to today, and Pellegrino Services has a full and unrestricted building license allowing us to construct commercial buildings up to 25-stories high. We are proud to have worked with many high-profile clients on a wide range of projects and have an extensive portfolio of commercial and residential developments.

Chinese Heritage

Pellegrino Services employs a diverse range of people from various cultural backgrounds. Michael Wang, Managing Director and Operations Director at Pellegrino Services, is a second generation of the Wong Family. His father runs a large construction company in China and has built many commercial properties, including resorts, apartments and shopping malls.

Pellegrino Services specialise in Chinese heritage buildings and have access to highly skilled traditional Chinese builders. Our team understands the complexities of buildings and has a vast network of specialist consultants in China who are actively involved on all traditional heritage projects. Plus, our construction manager know and understand the timber construction methods involved in creating Asian heritage structures with strong religious and cultural significance

 

 

Executive Team

Michael Wang

Managing Director/Operations manager

As the Managing Director and Operations Director, Michael Wong has been instrumental in the company’s strategic growth. He has a strong background in building with over 10 years in construction, and he has built a huge network of trusted contractors and consultants throughout the industry. Michael personally oversees every project, from smaller to multi-million dollar projects to ensure that Clients’ visions are translated into reality with practical and workable building solutions.

As the founder of the business, Michael regularly liaises with clients and stakeholders to determine the project size, scope, feasibility and pricing. His passion for building and design has fuelled our growth and enabled us to work on several prestige projects ranging from $1 to $19 million in value. Michael is also leading the company through independent quality, safety and environmental certifications in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

MARCUS CHIN

ENGINEERING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Marcus Chin graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Engineering in 1999 and joined Pellegrino Services as a Structural Engineer in 2018.

His commitment to quality and outstanding work ethic has seen him go from strength to strength, and he now holds the position of Associate Director and Senior Structural Engineer. Marcus oversees and manages our structural engineering team and is a hands-on leader. He works across civil and structural engineering providing design documentation and construction supervision. His expertise covers a wide range of building materials, including steel, concrete, precast (including tilt-up), timber and masonry for residential, commercial and multi-storey projects. He is the company expert in mortise tenon connections used in high tension timber structures and a critical component in traditional Chinese heritage buildings.

Mary Ma

CFO

Mary graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2010 with a double degree in Commercial Law and Accounting. She spent six years working with Deloitte Australia before joining Pellegrino Services in 2017 as the Chief Financial Officer. Mary looks after the company’s financial wellbeing, risk management, financial reporting and tax planning to ensure we are always in a safe and strong financial position.

MOMIR POPOVICH

Constructions Manager

Momir started his Services journey in 1970 and has over 40 years of building experience covering a wide range of commercial and residential projects. He has worked with Sarah Constructions, Commercial & General and McMahon in construction and site supervision and brings a wealth of knowledge to our team.Garry oversees all of our site supervisors and is a stickler for quality and integrity. He develops, delivers, monitors, and evaluates projects to ensure everything is built to the highest possible quality standards whilst minimising social and environmental impacts.

Peter King

Compliance & Project Planner

Peter is one of Pellegrino Services experienced and dynamic leaders. With over 20 years in the field, he has a solid understanding of the construction industry, onsite safety, contract management, planning and scheduling. Peter is instrumental in managing our team of contractors and works collaboratively across our project teams to implement our quality, safety and environmental policies.

Peter Xiao

Quality Control Inspector

Peter studied building and construction at Tonji University in Shanghai, China, where he specialised in traditional Chinese building structures, so he brings a wealth of knowledge to the company. When he arrived in Adelaide, he continued his study and was awarded with a Bachelor of Structural Engineering from the University of Adelaide.

Peter is passionate about sustainable construction and engineering solutions. He has excellent problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.

Xu Zhao
