Commercial Building Construction on Kangaroo Island

Pellegrino Services is proudly undertaking the design and construction contract for the Kangaroo Island Wool Mill project, which includes the construction and fit-out of a new onsite retail centre.
The objective of the build was to centralise manufacturing and production operations with a mill, factory and retail facilities all on one site.
Building in such a remote location off the mainland has involved significant challenges in terms of procurement, logistics and labour. With local materials and labour shortages, we have successfully imported materials and labour from the mainland. Our team has also undertaken significant electrical works to upgrade the electrical infrastructure to the required standard needed to operate the new production machinery for the mill.
The project was completed with meticulous planning and scheduling, achieving practical completion in December 2023.
Training Facility Alliance College, Adelaide CBD

Contract – Design, Strip and fit out a new commercial cookery training facility.

Pellegrino Services is proud to have partnered with Alliance College, Australia’s first nationally accredited hospitality school, to design and outfit their new commercial cooking training kitchen. The project entailed fitting out 2 training classrooms, each equipped with 15 commercial cooking stations, complete with demonstration areas, plating areas, dishwashing facilities, and ample storage space for dry goods, perishables and kitchen equipment.
The build presented several challenges, including the installation of high-pressure gas lines and a new grease trap while the college remained fully operational. As the training rooms were located on the ground floor of a nine-story building, traditional ducted ceiling ventilation systems were unsuitable and the team at Pellegrino installed a specialist ventilation and exhaust system to effectively remove heat, smoke and cooking odours.
Throughout the project, Pellegrino Services maintained close communication with the client and facilities management team, conducting necessary JSA (Job Safety Analysis) and risk assessments to ensure the health and safety of all involved. Despite these challenges, the project was completed on schedule and within budget, within a 8 week timeframe.

New Store Fitout for SOHO Coffee Grinders

Pellegrino Services proudly undertook a new shop fitout for Soho Coffee Grinders. Having acquired a new retail location in Adelaide, Pellegrino Services stripped out and refitted the space in line with the client’s vision and brand identity to create a vibrant and functional café area, equipped with top-of-the-line coffee-making facilities, service counter, casual seating, stylish display shelving and signage along with air conditioning.
Throughout the project, our team worked closely with Soho Coffee Roasters to ensure that we brought their vision to life and created a space that met their exact specifications and design requirements. Our expertise and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of the project. Retail is a fast-paced industry, where time is of the essence, and Pellegrino Services is proud to say that the entire project was completed with a three-week turnaround time.

Pellegrino Services was awarded this prestigious contract in early 2022. The development is set in the heart of Adelaide’s Chinatown and comprises a mix of luxury apartments, a roof top bar and recreational spaces built over four storeys. Our team of architects and designers created early concept drawings and provided detailed costings and feasibility studies for the project.
The development is currently undergoing council approvals, and the construction timeline will begin after receiving approval.

This ambitious vineyard resort and cellar door development is geared towards attracting high-end tourists to the area. The resort aims to provide five-star ultra-luxury accommodation in an authentic viticultural setting and will showcase the best of the region’s food and wine.
The Pellegrino team have been involved from the outset of the project in 2021 creating concept designs .
The build is complex and will be managed collaboratively with all stakeholders. Construction involves demolishing the existing structures on site, bulk earthworks, and construction of a toilet block/plant room and canopy. In addition to the luxury accommodation, we will be building and fitting out the commercial kitchens and retail spaces, landscaping, and constructing a driveway and car park.

Port Pirie Solar Project
Our professional solar team took care of the whole project from specifying and sourcing the solar panels through to commissioning and handover. The system was designed with hi-tech remote monitoring for maximum efficiency and uses microinverters to ensure a consistent power supply even on cloudy or overcast days.
The Port Pirie solar project produces enough electricity to power up to 700 homes and is one of the remote National Electricity Market (NEM) connected substations in South Australia.
Update road work for a private farm in Strathalbyn
Our team were contracted to build and update a private road in regional Strathalbyn. The work was planned to ensure minimum disruption and maximum efficiency. The project was meticulously managed to ensure that we achieved the key milestones necessary to safely complete the project on time and budget whilst maintaining vehicle access.
